About TCI's Community of Practice
What’s a Community of Practice (CoP)?
A community of practice is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do, and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. CoP members may interact online and/or face-to-face.
TCI’s Global CoP
Once you register with TCI University, you will become a member of TCI Global CoP. This online space connects TCI hub staff, managers, implementers and other experts working in urban reproductive health, providing opportunities for real-time social learning, help with challenges, access to expertise, networking opportunities and knowledge sharing to:
- Learn more about TCI’s three-stage process
- Promote a mindset of continuous learning, exchange, networking and reflection
- Facilitate the rapid scale-up of proven family planning interventions
- Convert knowledge into practice
Through this space, we will offer additional opportunities for continuous learning, such as webinars, expert-led discussions and facilitated group discussions. The CoP will only be as beneficial as you seek to engage. So, we encourage you to post your own comments and start the conversation!
CoP Groups
Regional groups like East Africa, Francophone West Africa, India and Nigeria are private groups for members to discuss regionally specific topics with hub staff, managers, and implementers from those locales. These groups may find having their own space valuable for sharing:
- Information about coaching
- Updates on national policy changes
- Discussions about improving the TCI process and overcoming challenges to implementation
- Local adaptation tips
Additional groups include TCI Coaches and others can be created for unique topics relevant to TCI. If you’re interested in creating and managing a CoP group, please contact Christina Shaw.
Advocacy on LPAY should be geared towards an enabling environment for AYSRH activities, not forgetting funds for same.
Positive disruption.
Providers bias is a serious challenge in providing services to the adolescent
As it dey hot. It must be intentional
TCI University (TCIU) is an online university and it helps us to know about TCI, FP programs and other activities. It has four areas vis-à-vis; Toolkit, Coaching, Training and Community of Practice. You can take courses and share feedbacks on TCIU.
The programme is pretty good. Its an avenue of getting out of intergenerational poverty and help the young people to build a befitting future. Its reduces untimely death among the young people
Integration and leveraging as the watch word
integration. It must be done differently
Adolescent & Youth Reproductive Health (AYRH) “Life Planning for Adolescent and Youth (LPAY)” Programs
Advocacy with the Technical Working Group on Adolescent Health is very key on the LPAY activities in my State
Key learning so far is that adolescents and young people must be at the centre of AYRH programming. There must be a deliberate and intentional process to get them involved right from planning, inception, implementation and evaluation of the entire program.
We have to be intentional from the on-set to reach young people with AYRH activities in my State, Niger State.
Everything is is a goal 👍👍
The knowledge of TCI University other than a conventional one, to me is so fascinating and attracting. This is marvelous!!!
AYRH must be intentional and integrated.
Of course, the experience sharing by the Youth Program Officers from Oyo,Lagos and Kaduna
One key way we can achieve sustainable development is by equipping young people with scientifically correct modern family planning/contraception information and access to services.
Life planning for adolescent and youth entails proper sensitization and informed choices about contraception in order to shape young people future and fulfill…Read more
