For Kabiru Olaniyan, a passionate social mobilizer in Ilorin, his passion to see less women having unwanted pregnancies and going for abortion which is very risky made him become a NURHI social mobilizer.
“Due to the high number of women that commit abortion, I was spurred to become a social mobiliser. The message we preach is not for women to stop child bearing but that they should space and plan well before becoming pregnant. Unwanted pregnancies leading to untimely deaths can be greatly avoided if people plan, as individuals and as a family. I always refer women to the nearest facility with the NURHI referral GO-card. I will have the card with me at all times.”
