Demand generation activities in the context of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) aim to increase young people’s desire to use SRH services by changing their attitudes or perceptions and increasing awareness and knowledge. Such activities also aim to shift entrenched norms, including gender norms, that have an effect on their ability to access SRH services.

The Engaging Messages for Youth section of the Toolkit includes best practice approaches for reaching youth and community members with information on AYSRH through interpersonal communication (in person or via SMS/WhatsApp), mid-media (local community dialogues, events, or entertainment), and mass media (including print, radio, television, and internet).
