The Challenge Initiative (TCI) conducted a baseline survey in four states (Ogun, Edo, Niger and Plateau) implementing the AYSRH program. The primary aim of the survey was to generate data that will guide design and implementation of the promising Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH) interventions in the states. The survey was also designed to track changes in norms, ideational factors and intention to use contraceptives among young people.

The survey was conducted between November and December 2019 with a sample of 7,011 (1,575 male and 5,436 female) adolescents and youths ages 15- to 24-years-old. The sample was drawn from three senatorial districts with eventual selection of six local government areas (LGAs) each in the four states.

This brief highlights some of the key results of the survey.
