The Learning Package was developed through the project, “Strengthening of Parent Education on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health” under the Follow-up Support Program of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the Group Training Course, “Seminar on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health for 2005.” The learning package was developed to help parents provide the best type of guidance and advice to their adolescent children on matters pertaining to adolescent health and development, most specifically on human sexuality related issues. It acknowledges the expressed need of the youth in various forums and conferences for their parents to serve as their first teachers in human sexuality education. The package seeks to highlight the role of parents as the primary source of accurate and sound information on the subject as they prepare their children to become responsible adults and citizens of the world.
