Oro Youth Council of Cagayan de Oro City regularly hold community dialogue sessions with youth and key community members (Source: Oro Youth Council).
TCI recognizes the important role of an enabling environment in dispelling myths and misconceptions about adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH) and making it permissible for young people to access AYSRH information and services. Community gatekeepers, including city officials, parents, teachers and others, can strongly influence the value systems of those around them. The support of these gatekeepers can be crucial for youth—particularly young women—to understand their reproductive health and rights and increase demand for contraceptives and other sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. The proven approaches in this program area ensure that youth and community members are reached with information on AYSRH through interpersonal communication, intergenerational dialogue, social media, school and other platforms.
