TCI Pakistan Toolkit: Service Delivery

Health services in particular family planning services do not exist in a void. They are governed by policy directives. As a result, local governments need to have a solid understanding of these policies while addressing supply-side issues such as provider bias, cost, privacy, transportation, and the availability of appropriate commodities.

The high-impact interventions listed below will help to ensure increased access to reproductive health services and uptake of modern contraceptive methods among women of reproductive age by strengthening the capacity of public health facility staff and community volunteers according to Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination protocols, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, This approach is designed to ensure that all pregnant women receive family planning counseling in antenatal care and delivery and adopt a method or are given a referral back to health centers for follow-up care and management needs and support the operationalization of youth-friendly health services in Pakistan.
