Advocacy refers to the process of increasing support and building a favorable environment for a particular issue – in this case, for individuals, especially those in poor urban areas, choosing to use family planning. TCI coaches local governments and partners in Pakistan on the following proven strategies to ensure an enabling environment for sexual and reproductive health:
- Increasing health budgets for family planning services and high-impact approaches
- Using data to inform family planning programmatic and service decision-making
- Promoting a positive legal and policy environment that recognizes the sexual and reproductive health and rights of youth
- Working with private sector providers to not only addressing women’s unmet need for family planning but also ensuring that their service statistics are reflected in the public health system to guarantee better service planning
