Women are invariably the ones who bring their children to the clinic for immunizations, and yet the various services are not centered on women’s needs. Women have to make one trip for immunizations, another for family planning, a third for postnatal care and so on. Integrating other maternal, newborn and child health services with family planning can help eliminate needless trips and improve access to family planning services.
Applying a gender lens to services offered and using family planning integration can help improve women’s overall health.
Below are the family planning integration interventions that local governments are implementing in TCI-supported hubs.
