Introduction
Effective family planning programs don't sustain themselves – they require deliberate, ongoing commitment from the leaders and institutions that shape health policy and resource allocation. In Bangladesh, TCI coaches city governments to build that commitment from within, helping local officials and health managers make the case for family planning, use data to drive decisions, and create policy environments where urban residents – including adolescents and young people – can access the reproductive health services they need.
This course explores the advocacy approaches that TCI and its government partners will apply in Bangladesh to strengthen urban family planning systems. Lessons cover how to engage sub-national stakeholders, use monitoring data to inform and sustain political will, and advocate for adolescent- and youth-friendly reproductive health services within local government structures.
